that's it.

Michael Saura is a musician and composer with 40 years of stage experience. He'd built his career entirely offline, on reputation and word of mouth.

Now he wanted to pivot toward teaching: launching his coaching practice, attracting students, and being findable by singers looking for collaborators. He needed a site that captured both sides: the seasoned performer and the accessible teacher.

And he needed all of it built from scratch: identity, design, code, deployment.

what i learned.

Mobile-first isn't a preference, it's the only sane order. I started desktop, tried to scale down, and everything broke. Rebuilding mobile-first and expanding to desktop was twice the work and the lesson I won't forget.

Designing from scratch in code means owning every decision: spacing, animation timing, breakpoint behavior. There's nowhere to blame a template when something feels off.

A musician's site isn't about the music. It's about answering the visitor's real question: "can I trust this person with my voice / my song / my career?"

that's it.
